Troop 100 attend summer camp at Camp Owasippe! Owasippe is separated into several different camp locations. Troop 100 will be staying at Camp Blackhawk. The best camp ever!! Blackhawk is situated on the shore Big Blue Lake, offering lake front swimming and a dining hall. First Year Scouts will work on their Tenderfoot – 1st Class requirements through the Pathfinder program. Older scouts will have the opportunity to earn several merit badges. There are extra adventures that Scouts can attend, too!
Scouts are provided a cot and tent. A supply list will be provided to scouts who register.
Registration
- Summer camp must be paid in full before your Scout can register
- Should open mid-April
- First Come/First Serve for merit badges. Many merit badges/high adventures fill up quickly
- Some merit badges/high adventures have an extra fee
- When registration opens, I will be at the church to help anyone who might need help
Payment:
- $460 due no later than May 1
- $480 if payment after May 13
- Keep in mind- Registration opens in mid-April, BUT your Scout needs to be paid in full to register
- High Adventure activities and some merit badges require additional cost.
- If you need scholarship to help pay for summer camp, please talk to Mr. Meyer or Mr. Baker
Chaperones: Adult chaperones that have completed the necessary forms (BSA application, IL Background Check, MI paperwork) and online training (YPT) may attend camp and are encouraged to participate if possible. We need adult volunteers- at least 4 with a minimum of 2 female leaders.
Transportation: We carpool up to Summer Camp, just like our monthly campouts. Transportation fees may be additional depending on the amount of scouts we have participating for camp. July 10, departure date, leaders, drivers and chaperones leave around 6:30 a.m.
